Visiting Des Moines in August...might relocate if I like it.

Hi, I'm going to be visiting Des Moines in August - do you have any recommendations about things to do, restaurants, etc. I'm 51 years old...so I don't think I'll go clubbing! Just interested in stuff to see that the average person passing through might miss...I will be there for the State Fair, so I'll definitely catch that.

If I like it, I'll think about relocating there - how is the economy doing, there was an article in the New York Times at the end of May that said you had 3% unemployment, and could not get enough people to work there....

But that was before the floods!

Just saw your post,,,I am from Des Moines but have not lived there for awhile. Still visit as my parents still live there. I live in Muscatine, IA. Soooo, what to do in DM and job prospects? Guess a lot of that depends on what you like and what you do. I would be glad to meet you in-world. Look for Penelope Drucker, I am online quite a bit for the summer. Would love to meet you and could perhaps guide you better toward your interests.
